Why Would I Choose to Home School the Middle School Student?

By now, if you are still home schooling and have been from the beginning, you should be greatly appreciating your efforts. You have saved these kiddos from the undo pressures of peers, with sometimes very different value systems.

You are beginning to get a glimpse of how important it is to stay abreast of what they are exposed to. You will most likely be experiencing some doubts as to whether you should continue with the home school, especially because you may find your children have made friends with some public school kids and feel like they are being cheated out of life!

Hang in there, you are right! When you look around and see that the general public is accepting such low class values, so as to shame the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah, you can know that your choice to stay with it is worth it!

These years of schooling it seems most often best to have regular schooling hours for the kids to follow. This helps when you are ready to pull your hair out and then sit down and cry, because you can look at the clock and say, "Sit down and do your school work."

When they come back at you with, "I already have", you can look them in the eye and say, "I planned an extra project for you, write a 1000 word report on why they named Iceland, Iceland!" Get the picture?

In reality, though, you will have those days of doubts, you will know in your heart, you are offering these kids the best foundation available to them. They will choose whom they shall become later in life, but while they remain under legal age, you can continue to supply the best you have to offer to them! Teach ON!
