How to Make Your Home School Schedule

The beauty of home schooling is that you don't have to have a set schedule, however most students learn better with a schedule so that they know what they are doing day after day. You will want a schedule made but it can be flexible. Before starting your schedule you will want to write down what hours you will be holding school and what classes you will be teaching. This can vary from year to year. Some subjects you may want to spend more time on then others. You will want to have every subject everyday if you can. You also will want to have scheduled time for physical fitness. Once you know what hours you will be teaching and what subjects you can then break down how long each class will be. This will give your home school structure. The kids will know that at certain times of the day they will be doing certain subjects. It makes it easier for them to learn if they know what is expected of them each day. If your students are older you can give them a copy of the school day schedule this way they can keep up with it as they go along. If your children are younger then you will want to schedule accordingly keeping the classes shorter and more intense because of their attention span. The beauty of home schooling is that you can schedule school to suit your schedule. You don't have to have all classes all day long, you can break it up to suit your schedule. My daughter learned better in the evenings not in the mornings, so we held classes at night when she was able to learn more. As long as works well for the student and the teacher you will be successful.
