Human Levels of Consciousness

The human brain is a very interesting and powerful tool. The hierarchy in levels of human consciousness should be the ultimate subject of our current age, yet not many are interested in the most important gifts they were provided freely, at birth. There are many factors which can affect ones conscious state and development, a few examples in no specific order being; social environment, genes or DNA, or economic backgrounds to name a few. These factors may not be used as an excuse to explain ones lack in conscious development and self help, for there is nothing you will endure that you are not strong enough to succeed in. The highest level of consciousness is enlightenment, and before you can reach this state of mind you must complete the journey to enlightenment, the full journey.

The beginning of this journey begins in death, for every unnecessary thought form you acquired throughout your years present on earth must be eliminated, you may think of it as ego death. A deep seated sense of shame and guilt may stem from this ego death as one may take as much time as possible to think in retrospect of ones life. If there are thoughts of suicide at this state, one must be a strong willed individual to overcome these feelings of self-hatred and move on to the next step. Apathy and grief awaits for those blessed souls who are on the full blown road to enlightenment( note that enlightenment is rarely achieved in one lifetime). One may feel victimized and depressed, or may feel helpless in the struggle between right and wrong.

The next step is one of many obstacles and pitfalls, this next step being the state of fear. You may begin to see the world as a very dangerous place or you may have symptoms of paranoia, as you feel there is always someone, somewhere out to get you. There is a great need for assistance in the most optimal form required to help one escape from this level, for if you do not you may remain in a constant state of fear for a very long time. It is very common to see a person in a fear state partners with one in the higher level of anger. Desire and anger follow fear on the road to enlightenment, as when one is in a constant state of desire there is a addiction, and a lust for more. When this craving for more is not met one enters into the state of anger, if it is met one remains trapped in a constant state of desire. Once the state of anger is reached, the true initiate will begin to fly into the higher levels of consciousness because anger provides the required fuel to launch one into the next level, pride.

Pride is when you begin to feel very good about yourself, though it is a false security feature in the process. This state is very dependent on external factors like; money, power, partners, etc. This state of mind remains vulnerable and can lead to many negative issues, issues that are greatly present in our current civilization. Pride leads one to be very defensive and irrational, because if ones pride is damaged or destroyed, what else does this individual have? One important thing to note is that the road to enlightenment is initiated by the damaging of ones pride, which leads to the downward spiral through the lower levels of consciousness. Once the initiate has reached the level just above physical death, which is shame, one is faced with a the ultimate decision.

The true initiate does not remain in the state of pride for long, and steps up to the first level of true strength, courage. Once courage is acquired, life becomes challenging as you go at life head on standing tall with your head up. The obstacles and troubles that were overwhelming before, become exciting and adventurous. Personal growth is the main focal point at this level, as one begins to see the future as golden, and not make the mistake of allowing ones future to be the same as ones past, or present. If the mind state of courage is utilized fully and correctly, one will have completed the requirements needed for a economic foundation, or any major requisite required in ones life.

The following stepping stone on the straight and narrow path is a sense of neutrality. In this state, one is relaxed and calm about life. " If you don't bother me, I wont bother you" is the motto used by the individual in this state. You feel very comfortable and get along with others very well, but this state can lea to a sense of complacency and overall laziness. All of your needs are being taken care of, so individuals who remain at this state do not push themselves beyond this point. This is the state of many living in the united states, and other self employed people around the world. To move above this state requires willingness to move beyond this point. To achieve ones best, and give ones all in whatever is partaken in, one must be willing to use the energy required to work at full capacity. One must be willing to do ones best, especially when it comes to management of ones time and overall productivity. Self-discipline and meditation are the spawns of this state of mind, as ones mind becomes more organized and serious.

Acceptance and reason follow the previous level of willingness. To accept ones role in this world, and to apply reasoning in the approach of ones service is a very powerful level to attain. It is extremely appropriate to remain in one of these states of mind, although, it is very important to recognize that these two are the prerequisites of the level above them. This level is one that is extremely difficult to attain, and even more difficult to retain as there are things happening by the second attempting to remove you from this level. This state of consciousness is that of unconditional love. Unconditional love may be explained as a definite understanding of our connection with the all there is. Love catapults the thoughts of service to others from ones mind onto the battlefield, and acquire a greater sense of right and wrong. The desires of the ego cannot penetrate this level of mind, one in two-hundred and fifty people reach this state in their lifetimes. Joy is achieved through the service one provides through unconditional love.

The final stepping stone before the gateway to enlightenment is peace. In a true state of peace, one has totally transcended the material reality and is in a permanent state of joy. It is claimed that only 1 out of 10 million people achieve this state in their entire lifetime. The higher the level of consciousness, the smaller the amount of beings still on the road to enlightenment remain, for enlightenment, is the highest level of human consciousness presently attainable. This is the mind state that blends humanity with divinity. This state of mind is extremely rare, and is the level of the avatars portrayed in our religious texts. The significance of these avatars is that they model the successful journey to enlightenment, and modeling or even thinking about these figures can greatly raise ones conscious state. The state of enlightenment is signaled by a permanent feeling of total body ecstasy.
